Over the past week or so, I've started to have a few machines report MAS violations. I just figured it was a user trying to run the store, but I mentioned it to one user and they said they did not go into the MAS at all. They just said the "This app is restricted" message that I have set appeared while they were in some other app.
So I went back and looked at the violation notice. The process in question is this:
/Applications/App Store.app/Contents/Resources/appstoreupdateagent
I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this behavior. My restriction is simply set to look for App Store.app to run.
And as I'm writing this, I'm also wondering if it is the iLife apps that are calling this process looking for updates. Anyone know of a way to check that theory? Any log to look at?
