MCX acrobat9 self-heal

Not applicable

Ok, I really am pulling my hair out. Please help. I was assured that
this would work, but it doesn't. My environment is:

10.5.7 and .8 machines with CS4 Master Collection. Bound to AD, so each
user that logs in to a lab computer is using a network account. They get
a local home folder. I am managing this preference using Casper 7.01
MCX.... but it still does not work at all. I even consulted this article
and followed it step-by-step (among other similar articles):
http://itmac.wordpress.com/2008/12/09/adobe-acrobat-admin-password-self-
heal-problems/

...and still nothing.

Is there anyone out there who is using this MCX setting where it is
working?? Maybe there is something in my config that is conflicting with
it that I don't know about?

Please help J

The way I ended up with it working was that each machine required the admin
password once at first launch but the Casper package filled the user
template and existing users with a good plist and it doesn't require the
password on subsequent launches even with different users.
I used Composer using the fsevents method and installed Reader fresh and
launched it the first time, then I built the package. Good luck.

I’m not using MCX at all at this point nor have I broken Self Heal. As part of my patching process I have a package that lays over the top what Acrobat is trying to “FIX” which is typically the browser plug-in and PDF printer, and anything it wants to put in place for all users with FUT and FEU.

Again, I know I’ve said I plan to send something out regarding this, but I haven’t had some time to do so. I’ll try to scratch up some time today, and I’ll see what my index has for files in those patch packages as well.
