I've been attempting to get a solid setup on the autoupdating script provided by Paul Bowden / Office4Mac.com and I've been running into a few issues on multiple different machines, I'm wondering if anyone else here has ran into any similar issues.
First issue I'm getting is that machines are not consistently receiving or even checking to see if theres been any new updates, sometimes it'll check and see that there are updates available, and sometimes nothing will happen at all.
I have the script set to launch when the user logs in the Jamf policy settings, so I'm not quite sure why its being so inconsistent.
The second issue I'm having is sometimes on machines it will detect the updates and start to update as it normally should when clicking "Restart App Now" on the popup and then the update will just fail with the error of "Failed to install Updates" on the MAU.
Here is the log file for those who are interested in giving it a quick look: https://pastebin.com/itDPTa2n
The only real thing that stood out to me in the file was the lines of:
<Error> Error executing the installer with Proxy Error Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4097 "connection to service named com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper" UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=connection to service named com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper}
Which I imagine is the cause of the problem, but not sure of a solution.
Anyone have any experience with running into this on their machines?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
