Migrate from non-removable MDM profile to Jamf

Hello all,
I have recently taken over our Apple device management system as a colleague left our organization. During this transition, we thought it would be a good time to move from a SimpleMDM/Munki environment to Jamf Pro. Before making this decision, we assumed we could easily remove the old SimpleMDM profile and then manually enrolling the devices into Jamf. Boy, were we wrong. Looks like our MDM profiles were set to non-removable unless we wipe each device. I am reaching out here to see if anyone else has had a similar experience and can confirm my recent findings or offer insight.

Will your SimpleMDM server allow you to send a remote command to remove the profile or remove management? Be careful when testing because some MDMs may also remove FileVault keys or other pieces of information.
