modifying scripts

Hello all,

I have many building level scripts that I am writing and making changes
to them as need be. If I modify an existing script in the casper master
server, does anyone know if it will sync all changes down to each share
point?

Thanks,

I may be mistaken, but when scripts are run they are gotten from the server each time so any updated scripts on your casper share should be good for anything that runs it after that point.

If I understand this correctly you are making changes to the master and need
to know if those changes are replicated to the repositories correct? Are
you using the replication built in to JSS? If not you'll need to manually
push the packages.

John is asking the right question. I responded to the wrong question.

"If you sync it they will come"

To give you all an example, we have ODRs and different admin passwords
for each building.

So, I created a master image with generic settings and once the laptop
enters said subnet of the building the script will run and apply the
settings. That way, we reduce traffic on the WAN with tons of clients
hitting the ODM for authentication and get bound to their ODR instead,
and the passwords for the local accounts are set to that building so the
building level IT people do not need to know 25 passwords.

I also want the ability to massively change the passwords on this
script. So, lets say the network changes or I want to change a local
admin accounts password. Can I simply modify those settings on the
script that sits on the Master and will it notice those changes and sync
them down to the share points? Scripts do live on the share points that
I know, but these scripts I am using will possibly need to be changed at
some point. Like if I want to do a massive password change I will do it
with the JAMF binary via a script. I have tested these scripts out and
they do work, I just need to know if I can modify these down the road
and it will pick up that I have modified them and it will sync down the
changes is all.
