Net Boot Distribution Point

I am trying to Net Boot to one of my distribution points in another state and I have a question. Right now the distribution point is syncing with the JSS, so it is getting images and scrpits, etc.. But the Macs cannot see the .nbi file to net boot which is located at the main location. Does each distribution point need the .nbi file loaded on it locally or should it be able to net boot from the .nbi file I have on our main JSS?

Not sure if I am following this correctly but each Netboot Server should have an nbi file on it. The way our environment is setup is every location has a Mac Mini Server that hosts Netboot and is a Distribution point. Each of those has an nbi file that can be netbooted to. We have some firewall restrictions here so we cannot netboot anywhere except locally.

Sweet, I will try that.

Matt is correct in pushing you towards locally hosted .nbi's for a multitude of really good reasons. However, I did want to point out that it's still possible to netboot from an offsite NetBoot server by first, defining that server in the JSS under Settings/Servers and then making sure that the unit in question has been pointed to that particular NetBoot Server via the JSS. Again, if you've got a local DP you SHOULD have it running NetBoot unless you have a very good reason not to.
