Is there a way to get composer to work in the JSS netboot image? I have it in the applications directory and select full finder to load the rest of the OS. This would be nice for creating images with out having to use a secondary system.

That being said, you can remove the jamf software update settings
Sudo jamf removeSWUSettings
That will set it back to check against apple's software update site.

I just have an external hard drive loaded with a partition I use for
creating images when necessary.
When I get a new version of hardware in I'll:
- Plug-in my external drive to the new system
- Boot the new system to the install DVD that came with it
- Load the external drive (or a partition on it) with the new OS build
- Customize a little on my external drive, usually to login as root (a quick
and dirty Restore parition), etc and load my Casper applications I need
- Then create my base OS image customizations on the new hardware itself
- Create images using Composer from my external drive OS
Doing all of that network traffic seems a bit much to me, and it wouldn't do
any good for new hardware, although I do get NetInstall and NetBoot confused
at times. =)
