Hello All, We have are users on Office 2011 through Office 365 subscription. We activate their account post imaging. Now we are readying Office 2016 to be deployed via self-service. Is there a way to wrap a users 365 login/password together with the installer? Whether in Office 2011 or 2016?

Thanks in advance,
Mitch

Unless something has changed, it's something that the user needs to put in themselves. That's how MS tracks how many devices a user is licensing Office on. They are limited to X amount of devices they can run 365 apps on.

If anything you should be training users to know what their 365 credentials are which hopefully match up nicely with their email address (not always the case, but when it does match up its a lot easier for the person to activate since there is no confusion surrounding what information they need to provide).

I looked into something like this and found no personal information gets stored on the Mac when activating.

Basically, Office generates a unique ID for the Mac once the user has entered his Office 365 credentials. That unique ID gets stored at Microsoft. Going forward, only the unique ID gets passed to Microsoft to renew the activation.

You may be interested in looking into volume licensing if you want to avoid activation. It can be more expensive, but that's one of the benefits.
