Hi All,
I am MAC administrator of my organization. Recently we decided to have outlook.app for mac systems instead of Mail.app(Default Program). So i am leading this project and have been prepared all stuff like got the trial version of Office 2011, deployment via DeployStudio, Pushing its preferences from Work group manager but it is on hold because of few reasons. In our organization we don't allow users to use or create PST files, so we disabled all the functionality on Mail.app via making changes in its .plist file and pushed it via Workgroup Manager. But with Outlook.app we are facing some problem in disabling Import/Export function. Other things i have done from its .plist except this one.
So i would appreciate any help to resolve this. So that i can finish the project successfully and ask my organization to buy licenses for Office 2011.
Please let me know for any other information.
Thanks,

From my knowledge, I don't believe you can prevent it. I would look into preventing .PST and .OLM file types on the machine. That would also achieve the same goal.
Also as an FYI, Office 2016 for Mac is releasing this year and it is far superior to Office 2011. 2011 is a 32bit app and the database in Outlook is atrocious. The new Outlook uses mySQL for the database for mail and it works much better, leading to less crashes.
I only mention it so you don't spend lots of money on 2011 licenses only to need new ones in 4 months.

I'd be interested in how you managed to disable all the functionality on Mail.app. Can you post a link to a blog or document your findings?
Thanks.

I was just having the same thoughts as the question came to me about how to import and export mail from Outlook for Mac. From what I can tell it is not an option.
