Parallels Desktop 9 Packaging and Deployment

Hi,

We are in the process of creating the package and deploying Parallels Desktop 9 Enterprise Edition. I am following the Parallels Desktop Autodeploy packaging method provided by Parallels. License is not getting activated while installing the package. Install Logs says contact parallels team for assistance. If we launch manually and enter the License its getting activated. We are behind proxy but the manual License activation works fine. Is there any other way to package parallels other than auto deploy package?

We did not had any issues with Parallels Desktop 8 auto deploy package since it activates offline.

Thanks & Regards,
Karthikeyan

Hello Karthikeyan, Thank you for your time and patience. We received an information from Development team that mounting issue is fixed and new version already uploaded. So new version is available on this page http://kb.parallels.com/120093 Activation using proxy is still in progress. If you have any questions, please reply on this message. Hi @karthikeyan.mac we had a problem using a non-volume key, otherwise its been pretty reliable. I was going to suggest the Parallels forum, but as always you're one step ahead... :)

Does the package install and activate if you run it manually or by deploying it via ARD?

Yes, It happens when it run manually. We are suspecting the bluecoat authentication issues on Mac. When we launch the Parallels Desktop it asks us for bluecoat proxy authentication and then we can manually enter the license key or use command line prlsrvctl install-license -k "KEY HERE". Do we have another way to bypass this online activation?

Also In mavericks the Parallels Desktop 9 volume mounts back when you logout and login in any user.

Thanks & Regards,

The volume key and wrapper pkg lifts the activation requirement.

hmmm....I haven't used it but I remember there being a command in prlsrvctl that should allow for offline activation.

activate-license-offline -i,--id <confirmation-id>

Something you may want to look into.

@donmontalvo, Parallels Desktop 8 auto deploy package was working without internet but Parallels Desktop 9 auto deploy packages requires online activation. We have a Volume License and using the http://download.parallels.com/desktop/tools/pd-autodeploy.zip wrapper package.

Hi - does anyone know if Parallels has resolved the proxy activation issue yet? My auto deploy wrapper produces a "trial expired" message when upgrading clients with PD8 EE (upgrading to 9) but then mysteriously grays out the "Activate" button. Any prlsrvctl commands I attempt result in a firewall error (ARD).

Just curious. Thanks!
