Question

patching

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

I am patching known applications on our MacBook’s at the moment using Jamf Pro, is there a way to discover unknown applications without manually going through the list of installed apps on every single Mac. If a user installs a new application that I am unaware of, how do I find this or get notified so I can ensure it is patched?

Curious to see what others are doing, but off the top of my head, you could do an Advanced Search.

1. Click the Computers tab

2. Change search from Computers to Applications

3. In the search field, enter: *

4. Click the Search button

The wildcard (*) searches for all apps. Jamf will tell you all apps installed. You can see the full list of apps installed on your Macs.

Ah, cool thanks for that mvu, easier that checking each Mac in turn :) It would be really good if Jamf Pro would alert me to this though
