It seems like since either High Sierra or Mojave, point release updates (e.g. 10.14.4 or 10.14.3) take forever to install. The 10.14.3 Supplemental Update took about 40 minutes to install on a machine that had the first iteration of 10.14.3, which, given the slight build change, seems insane.
Does anyone have any insight as to why this is?
The only running theory I have is that it has something to do with APFS as upgrades from 10.13.x to 10.14.3 and 10.14.4 have taken much longer than when going from 10.12.6 or earlier.
Any insight would be awesome! I'm usually pretty on top of things like this, but I appear to be off my game this time around.
