Hi,
I'm using JSS 9.72 on a WINServer 2012 R2. I'd like to prevent users installing apps from the app store.
I set a config restriction profile:
- Allow installing apps - deselected
- Allow removing apps - selected
- Allow In-App-Purchases - deselected
- Require iTUNes Password - deselected
Media Content is completely non-restricted - just the two checkboxes at the end are selected.
If I add a new App with App Function in JSS (e.g. Excel, Action Movie FX, Art of Glow and some more) i try to set the following settings:
- Site: None - there are several sites existing
- Category: I'defined a lot of them :)
- Version: like iTUnes
- Free: of course
- Distribution Method: Make available in Self Service
- Remove app when MDM profile is deselected: yes
- Prevent backup: no
- App URL: like iTunes
- Scope e.g.: a defined iPAD
- Self Service like suggested
- App Conf: nothing
It is strange that there is no Icon (e.g. excel-App) shown. Not at all, as well after storing my settings.
The other thing is, that there is an predefined App-Logo shown in self service afterwards.
If you click on the logo, an install button is shown.
Starting installation, starts an endless loop of circling around.
Can anybody help me.
