Public Wifi

I have teachers that somehow keep joining a public wifi when they are in the schools and not the private one they are suppose to be on. We have config profiles so they can be on the correct one's. Is there a way for me to block the public wifi on the macs where they cant join it at all?

Thanks

Hi EliasG,

Is this iOS or Mac OS ?

For Mac OS, you could write a script to remove the unwanted wireless SSID from the 'known and automatically join networks' list. This won't stop them re-adding it so you could have the script run every day ( / week / month / year).

For iOS, you'd need to get your hands on the device and manually remove the SSID I'm afraid.

Another possible solution (depending on if your wireless solution supports it) is to block the Airport/Wi-Fi MAC addresses from joining the undesired SSID?

Hope that helps!
