QuickAdd - after clean install, fails to recreate hidden admin user home dir

There are times that our Desktop Support technicians determine a Mac needs to be rebuilt. Rather than backup/reimage/restore, the route they take involves doing a clean-install using the Apple Mac OS X installer (bundled or off-the-shelf). There are also times when a user requests to be upgraded from Leopard > Snow Leopard, which also involves using the Apple Mac OS X installer.

In each of these instances, the Casper agent "breaks"...so a mandatory step is to reinstall QuickAdd.

We are noticing that while the hidden admin user is created (or recreated), the requisite hidden home directory is missing:

/private/var/hiddenadminuser

Is there an issue with QuickAdd where it fails to ensure the above directory is present? Of course without the directory, the Desktop Support technicians are unable to log on to the Mac.

If this is known issue, there are two ways to deal with it. I wanted to see what you folks think...

Option #1. Add line to QuickAdd to create the required directory if it does not exist.
Option #2. Extension Attribute to check for the folder and (re)create if missing.

I think both might be needed...in case a technician forgets to (re)install QuickAdd. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Don
