I'm finding more and more that when we run Recon 5.03 after imaging with
Casper or running the "Casper/Recon QuickAdd" package that it isn't
finding the hidden casper user account. The status light is gray and says
there isn't an account that matches. Shouldn't the imageing process
create that hidden account or the quick add package? It works when I
designate a different local admin account, but that isn't the point.
Also when it asks if I'd like to add the user in the Recon app, it doesn't
work. I hit submit and nothing happens. Maybe I'm missing a step.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the imaging process "creating" the hidden Casper user account. Could you elaborate a bit on that? As far as a Quick Add package is concerned, I use one of those all the time and it's been rock solid. I usually run Recon after running my Quick Add package (or after creating a Casper user manually using the jamf binary) just to check everything's ok and the status light shows green every time. A very useful feature, in my opinion.

Ah, now I agree with you on this one. I've seen this a couple of times now although as I recall it was always when using Recon to add the Casper user on a Mac running Panther, not Tiger. We had pretty much put that down to a Panther-related bug. But I haven't tested this very rigorously, partly because I've only had to add a couple of Panther Macs to our JSS, and partly because in both cases I only tried to create the Casper user with Recon because my Quick Add package had failed to install properly. That said, I've definitely seen nothing happen after hitting the 'Submit' button on those machines and was planning to raise it with the guys at JAMF.

I think what Nathaniel is talking about is the management account settings you add to a configuration in Casper Web or Casper Admin. I haven't been having issues with this that I know of. Naturally it will only add that account if you have one set for the configuration.
I've never used a quick add package for this account so I don't have any help there.
