Hi All,

Is it safe for me to update our JSS from 9.81 all the way to the latest version?

Should I do it incremental?

Thanks!

I learned my lesson the wrong way.

I did an upgrade from 9.91 to 9.93 and it created permissions issues on our mac environment.

I blame my self for not testing first.

This is my opinion, it looks like 9.93 it has more bugs than 9.91, when 9.91 it was released I didn't had as much issues as I'm having with 9.93. I know Jamfsoftware will be able to resolved issues/bugs in the future, I just wish I wouldn't upgraded to 9.93 on a production environment so soon after the release.

Also take a look at their known issues for 9.93, that was my fault (again) for not taking a look at their known issues description, I got excited for the new futures on the new release and didn't pay attention to their known issues.

In the future I'm creating a test environment, and test, test, test.... before jumping into upgrading our JSS.

@billystanton An upgrade from 9.81 to current should be safe. Of course, have a full backup of your JSS and your database before upgrading. Reversion would be difficult, especially if the clients have already begun to auto-update to current version.

But to your point, going through each dot release is not necessary.

Thanks all

Maybe I'll just upgrade to 9.91 for now!

I would point out that you could have a testing environment, and test the betas ... more tester is alway helpful...

I must apologise!

I have over locked this and didn't realise 9.93 was beta. I thought it was general release.

My question was answered though in that I don't need to do every release!

Thanks!

9.93 is not a beta; it is the current release version.
