I've started working on upgrading to Casper 9.x. I thought about putting it right on 10.9, but somehow 10.9 just feels a bit untested for something like this. So I started to build a 10.8 server and noticed that I can no longer download the 2.2.2 version of the server App. I have some sever mini's that already have 10.8.3 and 2.2.1 server app on them. But I cannot update server app to 2.2.2. Server 2.2.2 seems to be unavailable.
I see it in my App store purchases with an option to click update. But when I click update I get an App Store 1004 error.
If you click on the Server 2.2.2 link in my app store purchases it says not available in this store right now.
(Doesn't make me feel real positive about the 50 10.8.4 servers I have out there right now running 2.2.1. )
Anyway after that exercise I'm thinking maybe I should just go with Mavericks and Server 3.x. Do many have the JSS up and running on 10.9 ?
Thinking of eventually moving the JSS to a virtualized environment. The windows folks in our organization do have some pretty big blade server set ups running VSphere VMWare setups. I just to feel fluent enough on the Linux side to really want to go there yet.

I haven't had issues upgrading to server 2.2.2.

Thanks for the reply jimee. Have you tried recently ? If you go to your app store purchases and just click on the Server 2.2.2 link does it come back with a description ? For me it says not available in the store. I've tried on several different machines and a couple of different Apple IDs.

I tried and didnt get an error. Have you tried to remove the older version of your Server app and tried to download / install it again?

Update: Just tried again and I was able to download.

Yes I tried that. Even tried a fresh install of the OS and just tried to install 2.2.2 from the App store purchase list. When I try it now I get an "Item Not Available" Error. "The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store."

Weird, I know one of my colleagues mentioned he ran into this issue out in the field as well, but I have not seen this issue occur with me.

Or will it work if you try to download off of a 10.8.4 computer and then just copy the updated server app over?

Totally weird. Just had one my colleagues try it from his Apple ID. (It's in his purchase list as well.) He gets the same "Item Not Available" Error.

rcorbin, have you tried on a 10.8.4 computer? I just realized the computers I've been testing on were 10.8.4.

I've tried 10.8.5. The Server minis I was testing came with 10.8.3 and 2.2.1. I first updated the OS to 10.8.5 and then tried updating Server app. I'm typing this on an iMac running 10.8.5. In theory I should be able to go to my purchases and even download Server 2.2.2 on this machine. It also says not available.

I just setup a brand new Mini today and came across this same error. What I did was configure server 2.2.1, quit Server then update from Purchases in AppStore. I might have even rebooted before going back to the App Store. But I was able to update to 2.2.2. Hope this helps.
