Setting Safari to Run in 32bit Mode in Snow Leopard

Not applicable

I've been testing my Snow Leopard configuration to make sure there are no
hiccups migrating all of our machines this summer and have discovered one
potential problem. There is a piece of math software that runs in a web
browser and requires shockwave. But shockwave is not 64bit and it doesn't
look like Adobe will be releasing a 64bit version anytime soon. So I need
to set Safari to run in 32bit mode on every account on every machine.

What is the easiest way to do this? Can I do it via Workgroup Manager, a
policy, a script?

I wrote a script to do exactly this for an older version of Citrix plugin (now obsolete since they have a 64-bit version out). You need to enable UI scripting (examples are on the resource kit) since you can't programmatically set the bit, have to use the Finder to open the Get Info window for Safari, then set the bit...
