Hello All, I am an Administrator at a school who uses an Active Directory Domain and Sophos based Web-Filtering. We have about 1,400 iPad's and have the ability to use OS X and MS Windows SSO to auto-magicly give the right user the right access to the internet with our limited internet pipe-line.

Students have there area of research and inquire and Teachers have there Planning and communications. Our Web filtering is working fairly well in all but one area. iOS Safari does not have the ability to get a Kerberos token from our AD Domain like Windows and OS X to get the right user permissions and the right kind of access to the internet. As a school this is very important to us. Right now we have to let our students and teacher sign into the web-portal of our web-filtering and trust they use the right account. This is partly based on the isolation of "Apps" in iOS, and the fact that iOS can not be bound to a domain.

I was told that several companies are in the process of setting up Apps or iOS upgrades that can use a binding of the iPad / iPhone to an LDAP or AD Domain and get network resources. After talking in detail with several JAMF support staff We thought it would be a good idea to ask the community if programers or developers can setup a binding or some form of binding of iPads to a Network Domain to not just get Web-Filtering but All the advantages of Network prints, Network file storage/ sharing, and SSO with a Domain.

If anyone can come up with a solution that can be packaged by Apple and deployed to iPads / iPhone for any Domain use Please let us know so we can plan our next school year accordingly. I look forward to hearing from you and any solutions that may be coming.
