I have approved a lot of updates, and since September I am noticing that all my client machines are coming back with this error, and not running the approve apple updates from our SUS. I have tried to run the update on the local client, I get an error that the Software Update Server is not responding. This is happening on more then half our clients currently.

We are running Mountain Lion SUS and most all our clients are Lion.

This is the JSS policy error log.

/usr/sbin/jamf is version 8.62

Not sure this is your problem but..

Casper 8.6 has an issue where if you are using the

Software Update Set Server Install All Software Updates

Check box of in a policy it adds a trailing space before index.sucatatlog

we use a policy with unix command of softwareupdate -i -a

I also had some issues using configuration profiles to set server path..mcx works better for us using guest account..

Hope that helps

I had the same problem but it was only our 10.8.x clients updating from a 10.7 SUS.
