Suppress Applications

Not applicable

I am working on the Application Inventory reporting as Mac Refresh is going on.

the goal is to exclude applications, binaries, etc., that are buried deep within application folders. For example, I'm seeing a lot of this when looking for application reports:

/Applications/ApplicationName.app/Contents/Resources/MacOS/binaryname.bin

I can say this is an unwanted application stuff which could be hide using Suppress application option. All that is needed to know that ApplicationName.app is installed is simply this:

/Applications/ApplicationName.app

I found some applications which cannot be located in suppressed application (Settings > Inventory Options > Suppress Applications) example:- HLCreshProcessor.app LogTransportLaunch.app CrashReporter.app Logtransport.app But can be found in Unsuppressed application (Settings > Inventory Options > Unsuppress Applications) but are Case Sensitive.
Logtansport.app
Crashreporter.app
Hlcrashprocessor.app
Logtransportlaunch.app

Because of this case sensitive thing these applications are still in the application reports.

LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Bridge CS5/Adobe Bridge CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Device Central CS5/Adobe Device Central CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Fireworks CS5/Adobe Fireworks CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Flash CS5/Adobe Flash CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS5/Adobe Illustrator.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe InDesign CS5/Adobe InDesign CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app LogTransportLaunch.app /Applications/Adobe Media Encoder CS5/Adobe Media Encoder CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransportLaunch.app

HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe Bridge CS5/Adobe Bridge CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe Device Central CS5/Adobe Device Central CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.app/Contents/Resources/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe Flash CS5/Adobe Flash CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS5/Adobe Illustrator.app/Contents/MacOS/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe InDesign CS5/Adobe InDesign CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app HLCrashProcessor.app /Applications/Adobe Media Encoder CS5/Adobe Media Encoder CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/LogTransport2.app/Contents/MacOS/HLCrashProcessor.app

CrashReporter.app /Applications/Data Rescue II.app/Contents/Frameworks/ILCrashReporter.framework/Versions/A/Resources/CrashReporter.app CrashReporter.app /Applications/DiskCatalogMaker.app/Contents/Resources/CrashReporter.app

Is anyone seen this while doing Suppress applications?

Hi All,

As per below email i mentioned that which suppressing the application case sensitive error is coming up and because of that these suppress application still shows up in the application reports.
Is there a way that we using to add these some application entries in the suppress application list which are not showing up in the suppress list.

Regards,
Vinay
