It seems every time I want to sync a share point to make sure it has a
new package I create it wants to sync everything again.
How do I make it only sync certain or new packages? I have a policy
erroring out at one building now over and over again because the package
did not sync properly to its share point.
Thanks

Hi Thomas!
Would these happen to be just the .pkg or .mpkg packages (not .dmg
packages)?
I've found that if I set Casper Admin's preferences for Syncing to use "File
Size" rather than "Modification Date" this problem goes away. I haven't seen
this problem in a long while since doing that but I think in our case
antivirus software was scanning the packages and causing modification dates
to change.
Hope this helps!

99% of our packages are .dmg files. The problem is, I find out now,
that it wasn't copying my shell script out to the shares and the policy
was erroring out due to the script not being found on the share.
I manually copied the script out to the shares, but I was hoping this
would just sync

Hi Thomas!
A JSS policy to sync? I don't know of any built-in feature of the JSS that
syncs packages to other servers.
The Casper Admin application will sync the master repository with other
repositories but that's on demand. And I believe it should include scripts
as well as packages.
Or are you referring to something home-grown?

I have noticed this also and do not know if this is just how it works or
what. If you are using a OS X server infrastructure rsync may be a solution
for you. There are a few GUI implementations that leverage rsync
http://archive.macosxlabs.org/rsyncx/rsyncx.html is a freeware version from
U of M (Michigan that is). If you run Rsync as a daemon on both ends you
can set it up to do delta updates...
Here is a article on that process here

Yeah I have thought about rsync and cron jobs and yes we are an OD
network. However, launchd has its issues and I would rather get a
working solution with in the application.
