My team's Jamf admin is able to change the names of mobile devices, but I'm not able to. They've allowed every permission they could find related to names for my account, and I can see/edit/submit the name change field, but when I press save, nothing happens, it goes back to its old name and nothing shows up in the history tab.
Has anyone else run into this? Which permissions are needed to change names of iPads in Jamf?

Have you checked under Server Actions -> Send Mobile Device Set Device Name Command

Your device has a name that is visible when you connect to other devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi networks. The default name of your device will normally be the name of your model e.g. Galaxy Tab S3 or Galaxy S8+
