Upgrade NetSUS from 4.2.1 to 5.0.1

Hello,

I inherited a very out of date NetSUS server running 4.2.1 on Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS.

Ideally I'd like to update Ubuntu to 18, but this seems as its still experimental with netsus so not fully necessary.

That begin said, logging onto the current Ubuntu 16 install and running the Netsus NetSUSLPInstaller_5.0.1.run updater seems to run through the update without any error but when I try to load the NetSUS page it paints very strangely with the side navigation banner not loading at all and other items on the page very scrunched together. In addition it did not seem like my previous branches were visible.

I have done this in both Chrome and Edge seeing the same results.

Another note: going to Ubuntu 18 causes the page to no longer display; only displays a brief php blurb:

<?php

header("Location: https://".$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME']."/webadmin");

?>

Any recommendations on how to upgrade to 5.0.1 either with Ubuntu 16.04 or 18 would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, whenever your are going from one major server OS to another I have always just done a clean install. In-place upgrades of server OS' have always caused me headaches. If you have the ability to do that you can take a backup of the NetSUS https://netsusurl.com/backup.php
