Hi guys,
One question. We are thinking of deploying payed apps through VPP programme, but there is one question. When we make a payed app available to users (after importing VPP codes into Casper), and they get it from Self Service, do they redeem it with their own Apple ID? Thus, are they then the owners of the app? We wish to retain the ownership of the apps, since all the iPads are managed and the company's property.
Thanks,
-J

We do this by having all of the iPads in our organization configured with the same Apple ID and then we push the Apps through Casper. We pay for volume licenses through VPP, but we effectively only utilize one.

Not yet... Once Apple adds the licensing option to VPP you can but that isn't available yet.

jarradyuhas, how do you use one Apple ID for all iPads? The limit for the Apple ID iTunes Store is 10 devices per one Apple ID, if I am correct.
Anyways, in our scenario, users have their own Apple IDs. This will now be available with iOS 7, right?

Currently VPP codes through an MDM are redeemed by the end user.
There will be a way of retaining ownership with iOS 7 but it hasn't been released by Apple yet. It has do to with VPP changing to licenses.
The method jarradyuhas is referring to is to redeem the first VPP code in iTunes and then turning it into an In-House app. There are several threads talking about that.

I was reading up on the VPP redistribution yesterday and there are a few important pieces to note. First, make sure that you select Managed distribution and not redeemable codes. Any codes that have been redeemed by an Apple ID cannot be re-added into a managed distribution channel. Finally, you can only use managed distribution with iOS 7 and Mavericks. More details are here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6015
As Chris said, do a search in Jamf Nation and you'll get a great deal of information on how best to distribute the apps for your needs.
