Question

VPP Computer based deployment

Forum|alt.badge.img+9

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting VPP Apps deployed to El Capitan.
Using Casper 9.81 (waiting for 9.91 this week before updating).

  1. El Capitan 10.11.4 enrolled with Casper.
  2. VPP account previously set up and visible in Casper - can see all licenses purchased.
  3. Added NEW entry in "Mac App Store Apps" and set scope to "All Users" and "Specific Computers" (and selected the test El Capitan computers) and set to "Install Automatically".

Rebooted Mac, but nothing happening.

So:
a) Should anything be happening in my setup (i.e. I believe 9.81 should be able to distribute VPP per computer rather then per user; am I incorrect)?

b) How can I determine if a VPP is trying to be distributed to a device automatically?

What do you have set in the VPP tab within the Mac App Store app entry?

@james179

Sorry, got distracted. Waiting for our maintenance window next week to upgrade Casper, which will likely help. I found another article that says 9.82 is required, but I only have 9.81.

There is no VPP tan in the Mac App Store App section (on the main menu, above eBooks in 9.81), so I'll assume an upgrade IS required. VPP settings were set in Global Management > VPP Accounts.

I'll get the upgrade done and repost if I still have issues.
Thanks.
