Way to restrict browser plugins on safari

Been trying to research a way to restrict certain browser plugins on Safari, like flash and shockwave, wasn't sure if there was a way to do this on a predominantly MBP environment. Or would the best option be to have a check-in so often to uninstall the application from the browser, with a policy or a config profile? Thoughts?

You have endusers with flash still installed? Are you certain the browser is actively running that plugin as most if not all browsers in the past two years have stripped out or at least blocked that functionality.

Months before Flash got retired and Safari and Chrome started blocking it I ran a policy with the Adobe Flash uninstaller. See here for more info on that.
