What do you use to allow users to remote into their on-site Macs?

Hi all, just wanted to see what everyone that allows this functionality uses. We want to allow our users to remote into their on-site Macs from off-site, either from another Mac or iOS device. We currently allow users to VPN and RDP to Windows boxes and wanted to offer the same for Macs, but our Infosec is not too terribly happy with the VNC client built into OS X. Currently looking for a third party pay for or freeware product.

I am trying to help my IT department implement this ability. They claim the use of JAMF Casper makes it impossible to do. Does anyone have any resources I could point them to in order to allow remote Mac access?
