Question

Wiping Devices with Usernames from LDAP group

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

Pretty much summarized above, but we are a school with two campuses. The senior campus does not use iPads so at the end of year 7 these devices need to be cycled over to new students. The devices are assigned 1:1

I need a way to wipe all year 7 devices ( we have the users group set up in AD )

I haven't been able to wrap my head around it yet.

We set the student's graduating year in the description field in AD. Under LDAP mappings, we've mapped department to description in AD.

You would then need to create a smart group that has criteria of department is 2021. Once you have your smart group, you can systematically target users by grade.

Otherwise, check your LDAP mappings under Gear > LDAP Servers > Mappings > User Group Mappings.

That all makes sense, but how do I send the wipe command to a user group? I need to have a smart group for mobile devices to make this happen don't I?
