Overall Purpose:

  • Professional SystemEngineer is responsible for management and maintenance of the Jamf Mac Management System.

  • Lead coordination with the various AT&T IT support groups resulting in prompt resolution of technical problems.

  • Provides training and direction for IT Support Technicians.

  • Supports System Administrators in the deployment of hardware and software solutions for the Apple Mac ecosystem.

  • Position may require occasional travel to assist other areas of the business.

  • This position contributes as a collaborative team member and takes a lead in responsibility.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support, document, monitor, configure, and administer the Jamf Mac Management System.

  • Test and evaluate Apple Mac devices and ecosystem.

  • Analyze help desk tickets and/or IT Service Survey data and recommend customer service improvements for the Apple Mac ecosystem.

  • Develop training materials and procedures for end users and IT Support Technician staff.

  • Assist with the assessment, development, implementation, and support of new hardware and technologies.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of software policies and packages.

  • Diagnose and provide support on computer system problems, including debugging, correcting, repairing, servicing, examining, installing, training, and troubleshooting computer hardware, printers, and other peripherals.

  • Work with team members to coordinate routine hardware and software technology refresh.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years related technical architect experience

  • Expert level knowledge of various types of computer operating systems, preferably MacOS, iOS, and Windows.

  • Experience troubleshooting Apple Mac hardware and macOS software.

  • Extensive knowledge of Jamf Pro software and MDM design and management.

  • Basic knowledge of local area networks (TCP/IP), and communications equipment.

  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise level issues and a history of driving to root cause.

  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation in written or electronic form.

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Knowledge in home and premise networking architectures & technologies

  • Well-versed in security (encryption, certificates, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)

  • Proficient in system performance measurements, troubleshooting, support, monitoring and optimization.

  • Knowledge in network and system architecture (Subsystems, interfaces, HW/SW dependencies).

  • Team first attitude with the ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to maintain professional communications with people inside and outside the business environment as necessary.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an end-user customer service orientation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Enterprise-wide deployment planning and support for mission critical applications for major releases, both business and infrastructure related

  • Develop technical documentation on applications and systems

  • Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience of 5+ years
