Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  2. Apple ACSP (Apple Certified Support Professional) or equivalent experience and certification within 3 months of hire.

  3. Experience with Jamf Pro desirable.

  4. Three years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software.

  5. Knowledge of Apple and PC equipment operating systems, hardware and peripherals; local area network operating systems; installation, maintenance and configuration of LAN-based workstation applications; LAN-based services such as security, user rights and electronic mail; administration, commands and utilities (including recovery and backup) of one or more network operating systems; and LAN protocols specific to workstation installation and configuration.

  6. Basic knowledge of imaging techniques and processes using Jamf for Apple products and Zenworks for PC computers; and upgrading hardware components and configuring applications for optimum performance.

  7. Troubleshooting skills specific to Jamf, Apple and PC hardware, software and communication issues.

  8. Understanding of IP addressing schemes and subnet configurations.

  9. Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

  10. Effective customer service skills.

  11. Effective communication both orally and in writing.

  12. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.

  13. Fluency in Spanish is a strength.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. IT Tech Support – Work Orders - Analyze and resolve daily computer network tasks for the college community through the provided service system.

  2. Provide technical support with network/hardware/software issues onsite and at remote sites.

  3. Diagnose and assist user in resolving break/fix issues.

  4. Utilize remote connection software to resolve network, server, hardware, and software problems. Write procedures as needed for new, or to modify existing procedures, for IT Services. Assist Supervisor with IT projects as needed.

  5. Network Computer Administration: Install network devices and software on a LAN.

  6. Administer network servers in a multi-networked environment (add/modify/delete users, computers, printers etc…in Jamf Pro, Active Directory, Microsoft and Apple Operating systems).

  7. Diagnose and repair network computer hardware and software emergencies as they arise onsite and remote locations.

  8. Research, evaluate, and test new software and hardware for network compatibility, make recommendation and provide quotes as needed.

  9. Manage the lifecycle of equipment in appropriate systems i.e. hardware database and Jamf.

  10. Assist Network Administrator with network and server projects.

  11. Classroom and public equipment management: Independently image, configure, deploy, and maintain classroom equipment on site and remote locations.

  12. Test, evaluate, and make recommendations to optimize PC performance.

  13. Resolve network and other connectivity issues.

  14. Analyze college community needs and make recommendations for new software and hardware.

  15. Jamf Pro Administration: Keep system updated and create, manage and administer all images for Apple inventory using Jamf, Apple Configurator, DEP, and Apple School Manager.

  16. Troubleshoot and resolve network, server, hardware and app issues.

  17. Routinely analyze system to create new enrollment profiles, software packages, and to manage self-service apps.

  18. Remotely install apps, manage security updates and patches, and resolve customer issues for on site and remote locations.

  19. Serve on college and system committees as required.

  20. Other duties as assigned
