Hi everyone, I'd like to ban users from disabling chrome/safari specific extension (McAfee Endpoint Security Web Control). Any idea for the config to setup in jamf ? Should I rebuild Chrome bundle or just push a policy ?
Hi Folks,New to JAMF Pro. I'm going through the steps to connect JAMF to Apple Business manager. I was able to create the MDM on Apple Business Manager and download the token. When I upload the token, I get an error "Problem Contacting Apple Services".Any suggestions on how to resolve?
Hi All,I've been trying to setup Tableau Desktop to install on our managed Macs. I'm very new to setting up packages to deploy but have had success with other installs. This one just does not want to install. Has anyone had success with getting this setup and would like to provide how they did it?
Hey All!Management has requested that I:*Make a VPP app scoped to all iPads (more probably in the future)*Make that app available in Self-Service (not forced deployed)*Make that app Locked (limitations tab) to a particular LDAP group so that the app only shows up in self service if your login is a member of that group We have many policies scoped in Self-Service this way to MacOS devices, and have no issues. When we are trying to do it this way with VPP apps, it seems to break distribution of said app. It keeps putting up a message that says: "Pending - All licenses are in use or the license is not assigned yet"Even though we have made plenty of app licenses available and it shows there are still plenty available in JAMF. My current theory is maybe because we don't use managed apple ID's and it's having trouble getting that info from Apple? I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or has a fix for this.
I'm having a weird issue since Monday. It's affecting some, but not all computers. When a user opens up Self Service and goes to click "Install" on any application or printer I have made available, it appears to run, but never installs. The button then shows "Reinstall". In History, it shows that it "ran", but then upon refreshing Self Service, it disappears from History and the button label returns to "Install". The Policy never executes properly and any Printer or Application trying to be installed never does. The computer is still communicating with JAMF and shows Check-In and Inventory Update time stamps. Other Triggers (Check-in, Startup, Enrollment) all seem to work properly. This is affecting MacBook Airs and Pros 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 (so Intel & M1). I have had a couple (about 4) MBAirs and Pros that are able to install correctly.I have been able to Install correctly on the 3 iMacs I've tried (2018, 2019 Intels and 2022 M1).All c
Hey guys, I have 5 macs in a remote site in India which needed to be added to Jamf without re-imaging them. How would one go about adding these macs in Jamf? Can I simply enroll them and run policies on them? Do I have to image them?
I've noticed since the 10.34 update was applied to our cloud instance last weekend, the back button no longer works consistently. 2 out of 10 times it will actually take me back. It doesn't matter what section I'm in (Policies, Profiles, Scripts, Searches...). I'm using Safari in BigSur and I've purged my cache numerous times with no real luck. Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm using the cloud-hosted version of Jamf Pro. Often (or always?), the page title shown in my browser's tab or window title ends with an asterisk *. Today the title ends with two asterisks **: It doesn't matter what page/part of Jamf Pro I'm using, all the page titles have the asterisks appended. What does this mean? Is there some sort of alert I'm supposed to be checking on?Thanks for any enlightenment!
My company has several application programmers and about a dozen content producer that use Unity3D for designing iOS application and content for those applications. This means that they need to have the Unity IDE installed and maintained on their systems. My users don't have admin access, and Unity puts out patches weekly that have to be deployed. More annoying is their update requires you download a download agent every week and select which modules you want, and it does a fresh install every time. Has anyone found a way to manage this through scripts or self service? I have been unable to figure anything out besides downloading and installing it every week onto a VM and using Composer to make a new package. This is very time consuming though.

Does anyone know where to find an extension attribute or smart group that will let me know which computers in inventory are Big Sur compatible?

Mi Gente!!!I don't know where to post this as it's not a JAMF Product issue. However I wanted to share this with the community. Ever since I've I've upgraded to macOS Ventura. My Wireless Touch ID KB does not work at all. Touch D won't work at log-in or with 1Password as well. I thought his was strange so I N&P™ [starosinstall] and got the same results. Now if I connect the KB to my mac(hine) [USB], guess what. It works as advertised! It defeats the entire purpose of the KB being wireless. Especially since I run my mac(hine) closed to get desk space back.If I go back to macOS Monty [12.6 or 12.6.1] the Touch ID functionally works as advertised. On log-in screen and with 1Password.So I have to ask, as anyone else run into this as well? If so hit me up.+ Gracias
Trying to install/update Webroot through scripts in Jamf. We once had a script that worked very well but seems with Catalina no longer works even if it's updated with new links. This is the old script: #!/bin/sh #set -x #Set Keycode for Clients KEY=<Keygoeshere> #Proxy Settings host=X port=Y user=Z password=ZZ sleep 2 clear #Download WSA mac client cd /tmp; curl -O http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsamacsme.dmg echo Please wait while file is downloaded and mounted wait 15 #Mount the DMG file hdiutil attach -nobrowse /tmp/wsamacsme.dmg #copy app from dmg to applications sudo cp -R /Volumes/Webroot SecureAnywhere/Webroot SecureAnywhere.app /Applications/ wait 10 #run silent install if no proxy (If running a Proxy Hash out this command) sudo "/Applications/Webroot SecureAnywhere.app/Contents/MacOS/Webroot SecureAnywhere" install -keycode=$KEY -language=en -silent #If running a proxy unhash this command #sudo &#
FYI don't upgrade to mysql 8.0.30. There is a PI110425 for it. Jamf will not run.
We are wondering if there was a way that NoMAD can check previously used passwords and notify the user that the password they are trying to change is a previously used password.
I know iOS devices with JAMF can have Lost Mode enabled. Is there an equivalent for MacOS out there? Primarily, I want to make lost Macs scream and be able to track their physical location. I've done some digging and can't find something myself, so I'm turning to the JAMF community. Any leads would be appreciated! Thanks.
Is there a way to restrict a major software update other than the 90 day deferred update in the configuration profile? And what about a solution to restrict installing a beta version as system updates?
I am patching known applications on our MacBook’s at the moment using Jamf Pro, is there a way to discover unknown applications without manually going through the list of installed apps on every single Mac. If a user installs a new application that I am unaware of, how do I find this or get notified so I can ensure it is patched?
Hi all. Has anyone been able to set up a mobileconfig profile to automatically set up a gmail account? We use Google Apps, and want to be able to provide a 1-touch setup through self-service to import all details into the built-in mail settings. --Nathan
Hello everyone Has anyone changed the Recovery Key Type from Individual to Institutional or the steps to do so (mostly getting an Institutional Recovery Key cert?
Testing using Mass Action for updates for our clients with 7 deferrals.Staff I've tested with click "Try Tonight" and nothing happens. Pop-up returns later/next day-ish asking them to update, yet I don't think it subtracts a deferral from the 7.Anyone else seen this issue and have a solution? Also anyone know when the pop-up shows or is it random? Thanks for any assistance.
Hi guys, is it possible to get Jamf logs into AlienVault to setup telemetry? Im using Jamf Pro on cloud
Hey everyone, has anyone tried to push the new macOS 13.0 Ventura update to the clients via Jamf? I have created a new patch policy also uploaded the .pkg assigned three Test clientsBut unfortunately nothing happens. Do anyone have any idea? The funny thing is that the three Macs are not displayed in the patch management. How do you solve the issue of macOS updates in your company with Jamf? I would like to push the updates automatically to the Macs, so that the user does not have to worry about it.I am looking forward to your ideas and commentsRegards, Alex
