Hi Im trying to create a deployable configuration for Firefox ESR. So far so good but I cannot suppress the "Import settings from another browser" dialog. What I tried so far: pref("profile.confirm_automigration", true); pref("profile.migration_behavior", 0); pref("profile.migration_directory", ""); pref("network.cookie.prefsMigrated", true); pref("profile.allow_automigration", true); Any ideas?

I have seen this for my self and many users are complaining about it because it is restarting to quickly before they can save everything. It is restarting 5 minutes after new software updates are installed and prompting a message it will restart in 5 minutes. This is not how it is configured in the JSS. The delay should be 1440 minutes (24 hours). Even the message is not correct that is prompted for the user. I have looked around and can not find anything similar thus far.

We're updating our base images and recovery parittions, and downloaded a fresh install of Sierra, but it still only installed 10.12, and not 10.12.1. Anyone seen a standalone update installer for download anywhere?

Hello!Could anybody share the URL to download 10.12.1 Combo Update, please? Thanks!

Hello Everyone, I'm currently tasked with pushing out El Capitan to computers at a K-12 school district. Let me give you some background on what is currently going on: We have approximately 400 MacBook Pro computers that were purchased last summer on our network. Of these computers, about 120 are on OS X 10.11 (lab computers that were imaged with El Capitan). The remainder are sitting on 10.10.x (some have had updates done by hand some have not). I was able to push out the [https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1869?locale=en_US](OS X 10.11.4 combo update) with ease, and now the 120 lab computers are on the current version of OS X (yay!). What can be done for actually getting people on to 10.11[.1]? I downloaded the El Capitan installer and tossed it into Casper Admin, which yielded me an OS X El Capitan.InstallESD.dmg. I put this in a package, which gets downloaded via self service. The computer restarts and I am faced with the OS X Utilities page. Here is what my policy looks like: An

When I try to push the latest Adobe Reader DC (15.020.20039) to our computers on macOS Sierra, I get the following message: The computer does not meet the OS Requirements for the package Adobe Acrobat Reader DC-15.020.20039.pkg. However, if I pull the package down from our server and manually install it, it installs just fine. Is there a setting I need to change to allow this to install on our Sierra machines?

Tried looking for Jamf as well as JSS, but didn't find anything. Is it available?

Warning noob alert, macadmin thoughts appreciated: In our environment, we have a mixture of DEP and "prior to" DEP iPads in the wild. The DEP iPads have no problem pulling down a Profile and Self Service after a reset to factory. Alternatively, "prior to" DEP iPads, which were supervised with Apple Configurator 2, do not pull down the Profile and Self Service after a restore. Has anyone come up with a way for such "prior to DEP" / non-DEP devices to stay connected to the JSS after a reset, or must it be "prepared" again using Apple Configurator 2 once again?

Hello all! We are looking at setting up three macOS VMs for hosting and testing Apple Updates in a SUS as well as netboot. We use vCenter to handle all our Windows VMs. I know what the EULA says all macOS VMs must be installed on Apple-Labeled computers. With vCenter we can get it to work in macOS, but we had the idea of installing Windows on the Mac and then managing VMs on that device using vCenter. Is anyone doing something like this and/or have a solution for running Apple VMs to handle your needs. Best.

I need a script to check that Box Sync is running in the background. I have tried adding a few as extension attributes but they don't seem to work. I just need a report to see if the process is actually running or not. Any ideas?

What is the OS X 10.10.5 build number after installing yesterday's Security Update 2016-006, please? Thanks!

Hello @plite your session was great. Any chance I could get your contact information? My direct email address is: mconners@madisoncollege.edu I tried to capture your barcode after the session, but it failed to work. Thank you, Mick

Hello All, I am in the process of switching from Office 2011 to Office 2016. I am currently trying to find where I can get the update files for 2016. I used to go to this link Office Page for 2011 to get the updates, but it appears that it has changed to just a place to buy Office. Does anyone know where to find the update files for 2016? Thanks in Advance

So, here's my issue. If I run a script via Policy to set the screensaver, it doesn't work. <snippet> !/bin/sh Set Screensaver to Shell Screensaver /usr/bin/defaults -currentHost write com.apple.screensaver 'idleTime' -int "900"</snippet> Run that script as a policy via JSS and it doesn't set the value. Run that as a bash script from a terminal windows under the current user and it works fine. Run that same script again in Terminal with sudo and it doesn't set the value. "defaults read com.apple.screensaver idleTime" returns the current value, not the one I just tried to set. In other words, no combination of script, Casper, bash running as root/sudo lets that script above run properly. It returns 0 to the JSS but doesn't actually do anything. It only sets the correct value under user context. Oddly, if I take a completely different approach (thanks Macmule!) and run this code instead, it runs like a champ under all conditions. <snippet>startTime="900"if [[

Really intrigued by the CIS scripts from the session, but some notes/context would really help me decipher them, and since we're headed to an audit soon while in the middle of switching our config/baseline management to Casper (uh... "Jamf Pro"), I'd love to get this in place sooner than the release of the session videos if possible. (and yes... I lobbied my employer for 7 months to go to JNUC without success, or I would have my own notes... sigh)

Too many great sessions...not enough time.

Largely a noobish question, but has anyone come up with an efficient way to pass unix executables relating to Adobe Serialization and Removing the existing License. I've used CCP to get the AdobeSerialization and RemoveVolumeLicense unix executables...now I'm just wondering how I can pass these along via Casper. My big road block is that CA doesn't access unix executables directly. Thoughts appreciated

I am currently using JSS 9.93 to manage iOS 10 devices. I am attempting to push VPP apps to the device without requiring an iTunes logon. This is my first time working with iOS MDM. I have a VPP account and "purchased" several free applications via the VPP web interface. All applications are listed as device assignable. In JSS I have setup the applications making sure the source is from my "purchased" VPP apps. I have removed the setting that makes previously installed versions of the app managed if possible as I read this can cause problems. I am using configurator 2 to enroll my devices. Once I have enrolled a fresh iOS device running Windows 10 I get a prompt that asks to sign into an itunes account to allow my jss server to manage my applications. This takes place before the self service app is installed. If I log in with an iTunes account everything work and apps flow to the device. If I don't log in apps never get to the device. I have made sure to check use device based enrollm

Hi, I've just read an article that Apple is now sending out automatic download of "Install macOS Sierra.app" into Macbooks. As our company is not ready for Sierra (our displaylink driver doesn't work with Sierra), we don't want this automatic update or download to happen. I've also read that we can go to System Perferences > App Store > and uncheck the Automatically check for update. But is there any way to do this via script? So I can send it out via JSS to all the Macbook. Thanks in advance.

Is anyone else doing what IBM is doing when the system is first enrolled? The progress screen when all the software is being installed is great. Any thoughts on scripts?

Hello, We are preparing to upload our powerschool SIS information to Apple School Manager but the roster.csv file has got us confused. What is the difference between a roster and a class? I spoke with our powerschool admin and she also could not see why both values would be needed. I looked through the ASM template help files and support article but it is still not clear Also, The support article says "student_id A person_id for each student, separated by a comma. " and then right below "Each line in the Roster must have a completely unique roster_id, and contain only one class_id and one person_id." Does this mean each student will need a separate line or can the student_id field contain multiple person_ids separated by comma? Can someone who has successfully done this upload provide us with some help? Thanks!

Hello all, I will get this out of the way.. I am a Windows admin, not a Mac guy, so this is seriously all new to me, and i am treading lightly as i try to learn Mac/Casper stuff. I have managed to figure out parts of Autopkgr and the likes, and everything works great for software that is available for you, but when you come accross a piece of software that is not easily created by someone else, things get a bit dark and that is where i hope someone can guide me. So i have been asked to package PHPStorm. We have licenses so thats not a big deal. The trouble is taking the .dmg and making it so it actually installs properly without being asked for any admin rights. I know this is possible, but i think this application handle things a bit differently then my usually "office, java, adobe" stuff. This is my first "real" package. As a test i took the downloaded dmg and put it in casper. In Self Service i can "install" it and i get no errors. The problem is even though it looks like it was

We're seeing a behavior with upgrades and new installs, where login of Network users is taking 6 minutes to complete to Desktop. I've tried stripping out all our Login Window settings, disabling all our management and configuration profiles, and nothing seems to speed it up. The common item in the console for each machine is a ~6 minutes gap between trying to start the SetupAssistantSpringBoard, and that same item failing with error code 171. I can grab a console dump in a little bit, I need access to one of the machines. Hoping this is something super obvious that I'm missing, as I haven't seen it anywhere else. We are running a Windows domain, and it doesn't matter if the account was logged in prior to upgrade, or on a fresh install, so I know it must be something we're applying in our environment. We've also tried it with/without Sophos SafeGuard and SEP, trying to rule out our managed software.

Is there a way to do a search on all Macs to generate a list of all apps that were installed from the App Store? Until now I haven't been locking down the App Store access because that option in the Config Profile just didn't work in previous versions of JSS. Now that we're on version 9.92 I want to see if I can lock down the App Store to only allow updates, but before I do I need to find out what apps are floating around out there. Any suggestions? We aren't using VPP for now because our firewall and proxy is a complete nightmare and i'm giving up on trying to get exceptions granted for that until maybe later.

So, this will be my first JNUC and first time in MSY..so I'm not 100% sure on locations for events. Anyone with suggestions can post here and I'll see if I can find a suitable one. If anyone from JAMF is reading this..can you help us out? :) CHEERS!
