Hi Anyone, we have a company AWS own VPN. When we run the AWS VPN its bypasses the Jamf Radar policy and the user can be access how we can fix this issue

I'm working creating a script that performs several functions. One of the functions requires me to obtain the computer's Jamf Pro ID. I'm trying to figure out how to do this using the new API. I thought if I have a variable for the computer's serial number I could use that to query for the Jamf Pro ID. Is this possible?

We have a user who has discovered a log file on their MacBook called MCXTools.log that is being endlessly written to with the same entry (ID's have been obfuscated for security): Aug 27 13:45:39 mdmclient[20216] [0:MDMDaemon] Using MDM profile: <DeviceEnrollment> [CloudConfiguration:SetupAssistant] EnrollID: XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX (User:XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX) <Payload: JAMF Manual Enrollment Payload: MDM (<com.apple.mdm> 00000000-0000-0000-A000-XXXXXXXXXXXX:00000000-0000-0000-A000-XXXXXXXXXXXX) from profile: MDM Profile (00000000-0000-0000-A000-XXXXXXXXXXXX:00000000-0000-0000-A000-XXXXXXXXXXXX)> It has been writing these lines (and others) endlessly ever since it was enrolled. I cannot find any information on the internet about this log file and wondered if anyone has seen this before and what it is doing?

I've messing around with the below script I found, so we can allow some users to forget ssid's. When I forget the wifi, I still get the admin prompt, but if I hit cancel on the prompt, it does forget the ssid. Just trying to figure out how to get the prompt to not show on Sonoma.   #!/bin/bash # Get a list of preferred Wi-Fi networks wifiList=$(networksetup -listpreferredwirelessnetworks en0 | sed 's/^\\*//') # Present a dialog box for selecting a Wi-Fi network to forget selectedWifi=$(osascript -e 'choose from list {'"${wifiList}"'} with prompt "Select the Wi-Fi network to forget:"' | tr ',' '\\n' | sed -n 2p) if [ -n "$selectedWifi" ]; then # Forget the selected Wi-Fi network without requiring admin privileges sudo -u $USER networksetup -removepreferredwirelessnetwork en0 "$selectedWifi" echo "Wi-Fi network '$selectedWifi' has been forgotten." fi echo "Please select the Wi-Fi network you want to forget."

Hi there,We currently have Google Workspace configured in Jamf Pro. This allows us to manually search for users in "Users and Location" to assign them to a device. We also have Jamf Connect in our environment that associates the local account with an Okta account which is linked to the user's Google Workspace email. Is there some way to automate assigning user details into User and location based on the username of a logged in user?

We have a policy in Jamf that applies a disk encryption configuration defined in Jamf Pro's settings. (Settings \\ Disk encryption configurations)We also have a device that needs to run the built-in guest user, but not in Safari-only mode that is enforced when FileVault is on. FIleVault has already been enabled via that policy on this particular device.Based on a test, it seems that if we disable FileVault, it will just turn it back on per that policy that previously ran & applied the disk encryption configuration.Short of wiping the device and not applying that policy, is there a way to clear out that configuration as-is, to prevent FileVault from turning back on?

Hi all,I'm looking for some advice please?I have a lab of 20 Macs joined to a Windows domain. I've pushed out Office LTSC Standard 2021 and the volume license serializer via Jamf which is working well. When a student logs into a Mac using their domain credentials and open Word, I can see that it’s activated with the volume license. However, I encounter issues when the Office applications prompt students to sign in. If they enter their student Office365 credentials then Office LTSC converts to a Microsoft 365 Subscription license. I’m then unable to revert the license back to our volume license. Logging out of Office LTSC results in Office LTSC showing as ‘Not activated”. I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across this before? Is there anyway I can force it to use the volume license? Any help of advice would be great, thanks! N

Hello everyonePretty new to jamf so please excuse me.We are in the process of using jamf connect to elevate access currently still testing.I had one test machine that was running 2.34 elevated access was working i had about ~3minutes left of admin access, then our jamf connect policy decided to trigger (upon checkin) and upgraded to 2.35. All the sudden the request admin button via jamf connect does nothing. I checked 2 other macs that were running 2.35 and both are experiencing the same, requesting admin rights does nothing.Opening jamf connect to collect logs, I see one error that stands outProcess: Jamf Connect, Category: PrivilegeElevation, Contents: Elevation failed, role base elevation is active but OIDCAdminAttribute is not setAnd this is where it gets weird for me, initially our OIDCAdminAttribute was set to roleAfter it broke, jamf support told me is incorrect and to change it to either groups or roles & to delete the jamf connect state plist every change role>groups&gt

I am trying to find a way to create a policy that will restart a computer after it's been up for X number of days. I don't want it to force a reboot instantly though. I want the user to have the option to postpone it 2 or 3 times until it forces. Has anyone had any luck with this?

Hello,I'm having trouble with packages out of Composer. I previously had been able to create packages and push out through JAMF Pro. However the JAMF signing certificate was accidentally deleted from my machine and I received an error in Composer that the certificate could not be found to sign the package. I tried reinstalling the cert into Keychain Access. I am pretty sure this is the correct one. It shows up in Composer now when I build the package, but when the policy is run in JAMF I get the error "Installation failed. The package could not be verified."How can I confirm the certificate is correct, or can I re-download and re-install to stop endpoints from having the error? Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi I am trying to upload iPad details using the API, this script did work it now wont it comes up with an error, would anyone be able to point me to what the issue isbellow is the error-:10: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: br line 8 and p </p> ^ -:11: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: p line 8 and body </body> ^ -:12: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: body line 5 and html </html> ^ -:12: parser error : Premature end of data in tag html line 1 </html>And bellow here is the script#!/bin/bash ############################################################ #SCRIPT INFO ############################################################ CURRENTPATH=$( cd "$( dirname "$0" )" && pwd ) CURRENTNAME=$(basename "$0") CURRENTSCRIPT="$CURRENTPATH/$CURRENTNAME" ############################################################ # JSS Variables ############################################################ APIUSER="APIUS

Suddenly, as of a few days ago, users are prompted on every login to allow Jamf Connect to access their Google accounts. They need to scroll down and click Allow every time. The only thing that's changed recently that I'm aware of is that Jamf Connect version 2.35 went out just before the issue appeared. I tried rolling back on a test device with no luck though. Laptops are all on at least 14.4.1 of Sonoma.I found two old posts with a similar issue, but neither state what actually fixed the issue: Old post 1 and old post 2

Is there any way to directly install the newest MacOS from the Recovery Mode for Macs with ARM chip? For example: I have an M2 Pro MacBook Pro that is currently on MacOS Ventura. Now I want to set it up for a new user, but if I delete the HD and reboot it in recovery I still can only install Ventura. I would have to install Ventura, Update to Monterey and then go through the whole process again.

Previously you could use the the airport prefs command to edit things like RequireAdminNetworkChange and RequireAdminPowerToggle (WiFi > Advanced > Require administrator authorisation to change betwork & turn WiFi on and off)With macOS 14 this command is now deprecated and doesn't do anything. What is the "new" way to set these settings (Either by script/command or by configuration profile)

I looked through Configuration Profiles but not seeing anything for this. On the Advanced tab in Network configuration, there is a check box to only allow administrators to turn off wireless. Is it possible to set that with a Configuration Profile so that users cannot turn off wireless?

I'm trying to figure out how "Allow user to be granted first secure token" functions on the back end. I have seen a few tools that will generate the first secure token for a local account they create if the secure token has not been generated yet. Apple is claiming this is impossible, which has me wanting to know how it works even more. Anyone know the terminal command the Jamf binary is using for this?     New Features and Enhancements - Jamf Pro Release Notes 11.2.0 | Jamf

I need to remove the signature from a profile so that it is readable. In the past I have used this command:  openssl smime -inform DER -verify -in /Path/To/Profile I get a "Verification failure" when I try this. How can I remove the signature? It has been a while since I have needed to do this so has the procedure changed? I found some websites that said I can do this using Configurator but the profile won't open in Configurator.

Hello! We have a Jamf Connect window setup that works well except for one part: If you are a new hire and haven't setup your account yet (we use Okta), when you receive a new machine and get to that window, you'll let it sit but it will auto-continue to a standard MacOS login window. Without walking through the setup process that immediately follows the JC window, the machine will never pickup your username and you'll find yourself in a type of soft-lock where the machine doesn't have an account to use and we need to reach out to these users to walk them through a complete wipe/rebuild from Recovery. I assume there's just some setting/property in our Jamf Connect config profile that "autocomplete's" but I'm unsure what it is. Potentially the "Allow Local Fallback" property? We use that for it's intended use after the user has already setup an account to login to their machine, but our problem of course occurs only for new hires only when they haven't setup an account first. For what

I have a 10.13.6 fresh build mac with an local admin account created by macOS setup Assistant it has a secureToken, but then i bind the machine to our AD which has the setting enabled for mobile accounts, then login as a AD user and get the prompt Enter a secureToken Administrators name and password to allow this mobile account to use file vault. You can select bypass but would prefer we dont get this prompt in the first place for non filevaulted machines.Does anyone know how to suppress this?thanks

I have been having problems getting Symantec Management deployed during my enrollment process. Like a lot of Apple admins, I use a script that runs the whole ZTP process. All other apps deploy reliably with no issues. What makes this even harder to figure out is that if I use Terminal to run the SAME POLICY that is being ran during ZTP, it works. Every time. The ZTP script is running "jamf policy -event install-symantecmanagement". The only difference between this and me using Terminal is that in Terminal, I need to use "sudo" before the Jamf policy command. Also, a Symantec Management install policy that we have setup to run at check-in for Macs that don't have it installed for some reason works. There is only one Symantec Management install policy. It works when we use Terminal. It works with a check-in policy, but it won't work when the ZTP script runs the policy. Here's the breakdown of the install policy. I get a "Cloud-enabled Agent Installation Package" from the app owner at my

I am looking for a pilist which has Adobe Acrobat feature lockdown settings in plist,

As shown in the below screenshots, after clicking "Change Password" then authenticating, I am taken to a home page screen. I then have to scroll down and select "Change Password" again. When changing the password there, an error occurs. I am using Jamf Now's Jamf Connect option with Azure.

We use Okta as our main identity provider, and I'd like to leverage that alongside Jamf Connect to get Zero-touch working in my environment.  is there any advice for disabling Nomad and getting Okta and JC working nicely together?
