Hi all,I have recently been brought on to my organization and am working with Jamf Pro for the first time. I've tried coming through the posts to look for topics that would help clarify things for me on issues that we're having, but I just cannot seem to find the answer.Problem:All of our new MacOS devices with 12.3 or newer do not automatically launch DEPNotify, older MacOS devices such as 12.2 will automatically launch the package and begin the configuration process. From what I have read, there may need to be some verbiage changed in the scripting process or potentially another package? I could use some help getting pointed in the right direction. Thanks for any help and feedback on this.

Hi folks,Some parts of our network have recently been upgraded, and we've noticed with our Lab Macs that are on the upgraded network, when logging in, every user is met with the prompt below:To clarify, authentication isn't required to have a working network connection - devices are already connected and able to access the network / internet. Each user can go into System Preferences and disable this, however this isn't viable with a Lab setup as multiple different users will use multiple different devices each day, with any accounts created on the devices cleared overnight.I've had a look online at some resources to see if there is a way to disable this. There are some proposed scripted solutions:https://community.jamf.com/t5/jamf-pro/get-802-1x-authentication-status-for-ethernet-via-script/m-p/164047However, unfortunately the prompt appears immediately after logging in, before any login scripts can start. I have also attempted to see what process is kicking off this prompt to see

I've been asked to report on how many Macs enrolled into our on-premise Jamf Pro instance (currently ~350) have local administrator accounts set, and when they were last logged into. Can anyone advise how best to go about this? Could this be done via an Extension Attribute?

Hello,I have all the configs in place for DEP & user-enrolement. But let's say, we sent a new macbook to a new employee who is starting as Work from home and the employee doesn't connect to wifi during initial MAC setup and goes on to create a local account. I have the macbook in ABM & in the scope of prestage enrollement as well. Can we do anything about it? Thanks!

Hi everyone, the previous Administrator at my Workplace used the Model identifier with like "Book" and not like "Book" to sort the Macs into MacBooks and all the other more Stationary Macs. After the first departments bought the new M2 MacBooks Pro, we noticed that Apple had removed the word Book from the Identifier, meaning that the MacBooks were suddenly treated like an iMac or Mac-Mini.My solution for this would be to evaluate the value of Battery Capacity. For iMacs and Mac-minis it says N/A, while MacBooks always have a percentage there.Out of curiosity, how do you implement this distinction, if at all?Would anyone recommend another way?

Hello All, I Have a macbook that will not update inventory. This device was recently updated from High Sierra to Big Sur. When looking in JAMF Pro it shows that the device is checking in properly but hasn't updated inventory since last July. Any suggestions?

Hi :) My AVP discussed this yesterday, he wants to give Macs to some VIPs who use SAP as their main job tool. There are couple of apps that can be used to run SAP but I wanted to know if anyone has SAP for Mac users?Any challenge or suggestions will he helpful. Thanks much!! :))CS

We have a set of loaner/multiuser Macs with touch ID. Users log in with AD accounts. I am noticing that each new user that logs in is asked to set up touch ID. Is there a way to turn off the Touch ID setup prompt? I have Restrictions payload > "Allow touch ID" unchecked. This does not disable the set up prompt. I see a setting within prestage enrollments, I am pretty confident that only turns the touch ID prompt off for new enrollments.

Hi all, We are seeing a problem deploying MacOS Monterey. We are running our employees as a standard user and when the Monterey update tries to run it gives them the following prompt: "You must provide authorization for this volume by setting it as your startup disk. You can relaunch the installer after authorization has been provided"Even when I unlock the startup disk and make sure to boot into it I receive the same error.

Hello,I have a script being run as a policy that uses the sudo jamf policy -event eventtrigger format multiple times to run multiple policies that install applications. Is there a way to have it wait for the previous process to finish installing before kicking off the next install, it seems that none of the apps are installing correctly even though it returns with a succesful in JAMF. Example of code: # Installs app1/usr/local/jamf/bin/jamf policy -event app1# Installs app2/usr/local/jamf/bin/jamf policy -event app2# Installs app3/usr/local/jamf/bin/jamf policy -event app3 echo " All done with installs" Thanks for any help in advance!!

Does anyone have recommendations for Mac OS-friendly hardware monitoring solutions? Whether they be custom scripts or tools within Jamf (preferred) or a 3rd party platform. I would like to be able to get alerts on common hardware and software issues such as: Hard drive capacity Fan status CPU/mobo temps Other critical hardware issues such as bad memory, bad HD sectors, etc. Application load time Application crash data I know Lithium was a great tool back in the day but I haven't seen much on this front in recent years. We currently use Zenoss Core for monitoring our server infrastructure, but it doesn't scale well to desktop compute. Any recommendations would be most appreciated, thanks!

I have a profile set to use Message as the screen saver. Dose anyone know how to set the message for the screen saver via script? Thanks

There was a few questions in regards to what artists were being played between sessions at the JNUC so I figured I would share that list and the reasons behind the choices. Since we are a midwest company every song that was played was from a local artist, either based or connected to the Twin Cities or Eau Claire, WI. If you liked any of the songs you heard I highly recommend purchasing albums from any or all of these artists as they are all stellar. Just another reason why we love the midwest as much as we do. Hi everyone,To give a little context. The company I work for is doing our compliances and I need to ensure that the numbers of computers I have in JAMF are equal to the Crowdstrike console. Right the numbers are not right in Crowdstrike, lots of computers are not showing because of bad deployments, the version of Falcon and MacOS is not up to date, etc. So I'm trying to push the system extension profiles and full HD access and I often get those errors below.Even tho I uninstall Crowdstrike and still push those profiles, I get the same errors (below). I followed the instructions by the book from Crowdstrike here: https://falcon.crowdstrike.com/documentation/22/falcon-sensor-for-mac , nothing... I get errors. Is this a JAMF issue of Crowdstrike not being up to date with the MacOS? My environment is Mac with Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina and some Mojave. I still have lots of Intel and getting more M1 now. I get errors on Monterey with Intel and M1 so I don't know exactly what

Can't find on Apple Safari 13 installer. Available via Software Update, but I would like to package it in deployment policy. Please share download URL - Thanks! :)

Does anybody know how to get the URL to auto-populate when installing Anyconnect? I know it only takes a minute, but looking to get it added.

Hello,I am new to Jamf Pro and I am trying to configure a web clip to automatically open with the Google Sheets app. There is a way to open a google docs using googledocs://... with Google Docs apps.Is there a way that we can have a spreadsheet web clip to open up with Google Sheets?Any advice or work arounds with this?Thank you!

Hello, I am looking for a script for activating the right click for an apple mouse. Thanks for your help,

We have just received our first M2 mac and it seems off the bat that there are some issues with enrolling it - usually during enrollment from our JAMF site (that we carry out with M1 and Intel macs) we could profiles installed onto the machines but with M2 I see for the first time it needs a QuickAdd package installed that completes installation. This always fails and then when I try manually enrolling with sudo jamf enroll -prompt I get the message - An error occurred while enrolling computer: The jamf binary could not connect to the JSS because the web certificate is not trusted. Checking in the background for policies that use the Enrollment Complete triggerEnroll return code: 70 We are currently using the in built JAMF CA cert...would this be causing it?

This morning my users started complaining that they could not log into their systems. I noticed that my JAMF Connect MenuBar ProfileJAMF Connect Login ProfileJamf Connect License Keyare missing from some of my users that I know were there.what happened?

What is the proper way to make a macOS Monterey Smart Group? Typically I put in the macOS number as the criteria (10., 11., etc) but that doesn't seem to work... It's catching OS X Sierra 10.12.x machines in it.

While this is, arguably, a feature that Jamf should be able to handle at its core, what is the best method in 2021, across the gamut of supported OS's and architectures, to enforce Apple software updates? I understand that theres resistance to using any terminal commands for software updates. As stated in the Nudge channel, Since 2018 this has been a problem since Apple doesn't test softwareupdate commands that are triggered by a script. In addition to that, this requires a password if the computer is Apple Silicon. I recently rolled out the UEX-Tool-For-Jamf, and two of the components in it are no longer developed and throw gatekeeper issues in Big Sur. I would like to use Nudge, but, my confidence in my users is low enough to not expect Nudge to work fine on its own. Nudge cannot force the update to happen. What is the best way to handle software updates? Is there MDM magic I am missing? What is the downside to having the checkbox "keep my mac up to date"

Warning! With Jamf Parent, there is currently no way to unlink parent control of a device. There is a way to clear currently pushed settings, but the parent app still has the ability to reset those settings. This becomes a huge issue especially if one student's iPad is taken into Jamf Parent by another student, and now that second student has unvetted and unbreakable access to control the first student's iPad, without any sort of tracking available. Please +1 this feature request to help resolve this issue. Thanks

Hello, we have recently received complaints  from multiple users saying their mac closes all applications which are not running when they lock their mac and log back after few min .And they are getting the below error message when they log in back
