JAMF Now has added the ability to deploy any app, not just VPP. This is on the Plus plan, which is $4/month per device after the three free devices.
I think this is huge for those with small needs or budgets. No need to add Munki or another app management tool to your MDM now.
Custom iOS apps can also now be delivered to managed devices also.
