2011 iMac vs 2012 MacBook Pro

All,

I have been stumbling over this for the past number of days trying to make heads or tails out of this. Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

When we received our 2012 MacBook Pros, we created the new 10.8.2 OS disk image off of that Mac. This included the 10.8.2 combo update. We put IT into an existing image that ran wonderfully under 10.7.4. Now, when I image these two types of systems, they both copy and install everything very quickly, almost same amount of time.

The 2012 MacBook Pro is completing the first run script in very little time, actually installing everything including the CS 6 Master collection in about 30 minutes tops.

The same image or configuration being deployed to the 2011 iMac is taking upwards to 2 hours to complete the first run script.

Have any of you noticed this as well? Could it be I need TWO distinct OS'es to deploy to desktop vs laptop?

Just curious what you all think about this.

thank you again!

Mick
