We're starting to look at a wireless 802.1X environment.
I saw Steve Wood's excellent summation of his overall process - and I even see the ImportCAcert.sh script from the resouce kit, so I'm excited to try and tackle deployment...
however, we're seeing some odd behavior just connecting manually. I was hoping someone with previous experience could chime in.
If I connect as an admin and unlock the system prefs and click the "connect" button for my 802.1X User profile (we're not bound to AD yet) I can get an IP.
But if I try it as a standard user, turn airport off then on again (to get my authentication prompt) and login that way it says "802.1X: Unknown" where unknown should be the name of my User profile.
Can standard users not connect to 802.1X? I have a feeling it has something to do with our certs, but like I said, we're very new to this :)
Thanks in advance to anyone that has the time to respond.
