9.8 and Java Upgrade for Linux

JSS 9.8 requires java 1.7 or 1.8. We currently have JSS 9.72 installed on RHEL with Java 1.6 installed. I see JSS 9.72 supports Java 1.8 and we would like to upgrade to Java 1.8 before installing JSS 9.8
I am wondering if anyone has run into problems upgrading Java on JSS 9.7 from 1.6 to either 1.7 or 1.8, and if that caused any particular issues with your JSS/JDS ?

I have a ticket open with my TAM about the correct process for this. Ours is complicated by the fact that we have an SSL cert from a 3rd party vendor installed. I'll let you know if I learn anything useful.

Edit: Oops, never mind. My server is Windows, not Linux.
