an idea for a Mini Event but don't know if I want to lead it up

Turns out that Aaron Sorkin's "Steve Jobs" will be available in theatres on October 9th. Would anyone want to do a Mini Event where a group goes to see the movie and talk at bars afterwards....lame idea maybe, but wondered if someone would want to do that.

If I'm not totally knackered I'll be up for it, would be fun to see it long before it hits Sweden (if ever) ;-)

Maybe Thursday night as a post-con thing?

Is there a Drafthouse in Minneapolis?

That sounds fine too. Thursday night is open though I have to catch a flight on Friday morning back home.

Any locals have recommendations on theaters? I'd be happy to do the research and get something informally scheduled. It's a bit early for tickets but I'll see what I can do.

@emilykausalik

Sorry no Drafthouse here yet... I would love to re-watch Princess Bride in the theater!

While I am not sure what theaters are getting the Steve Jobs movie, here are some options that would provide different experiences:

St. Anthony Main - across the river from the Guthrie (walking distance from downtown)
Showplace ICON - west of downtown but has food, beer, and cocktails (car or transit required)
Riverview Theater - south of downtown on the blue line Light rail (haven't been)

This is a great idea for Thursday. Just leave room for the Guthrie happy hour before the movie.

So I'll just make a block of a few hours in the evening on Thursday. One we're 2-3 weeks out we should get an idea of what theaters will have tickets in the area. Thanks @kyle.bareis for the theater recommendations!

I would love it...I wish I knew Minneapolis better or I would contribute here...about the only theaters I would know of are at the Mall of America and no one wants to go clear out there. I would totally be interested and will keep following this thread.
