Put this in as a feature request. I would vote for that. Managed preferences would be a great place to start. So many things can be managed via MCX, but you have to know how to properly spec it (user versus systemwide control, etc). People have already figured lots of these out. Let the JSS source a master list, or at least provide a hook in the JSS to refresh its embedded master list with the click of a button.
