Anybody seeing OS updates for Catalina breaking devices to the point that they won't power on?

Revive through configuration fixes the issue, but I've had 3 Macs this week that just blacked out completely out and won't power on.

Looks like it's been publicly posted but our situation was all related to T2 Macs. For us we were able to do a DFU restore and all the data was intact. Didn't help that most users are remote.

Yikesers! I'm glad I came across this. I just recently started testing 11.6.1, but haven't seen this yet. I will need to keep a close eye on it. And I need to make sure our 11.6 users don't try to install this. Some of them are remote, like all the way in India kind of remote.

Yep, we had several machines get bricked from the 2021-007 security update.  Revive via Apple Configurator 2 has resolved it.  I believe Apple is also patching/updating the firmware for the T2 Mac's to be included in the update.

AC2 and Revive will wake it up.  Video of the process here:  https://mrmacintosh.com/how-to-restore-bridgeos-on-a-t2-mac-how-to-put-a-mac-into-dfu-mode/
