We have installing apps turned off in the configuration profile for our students. This removes the App store from their iPad. BUT....when they go in to the Self Service and install an app that is waiting for them the App Store shows up on their screen until the app is finished downloading and they can get download apps for that show period of time. Does anyone know a way to restrict this?

+18I remember seeing this a while ago. From memory its normal behaviour. Self Service needs the app store to be present if its pulling software down so it seems to dynamically alter the config profile restriction, then put it back as it was afterwards.
Unless its an in-house app you're deploying I don't think there would be a solution.
+4My biggest issue with that was the app store often stayed open when apps were downloaded through self service with app installation turned off.
