Anyone using an equivalent of autopkg on Linux?

Would things like apt and yum not be sufficient enough in the Linux world? Then add in a CM tool for automation.

Hi @tlarkin. I'm new to Linux so I didn't know about this combination. I will look into it. I just setup a file share on Ubuntu. Currently, a MacMini (running JDS) is set up as master DP. Autopkgr downloads to the JDS and the File Share but we will get rid of the Mac Mini eventually.

In the meantime, if anyone else has any other suggestions, I'm open to exploring multiple options.

Thanks!

Gotcha I was thinking two different things. AutoPKG and AutoPKGr leverage Apple binaries I believe and require to be ran on macOS currently. You can have any Mac run the recipes and generate updates for you. I was referring to the package managers on Linux to configure Linux.

If you want to automate AutoPKG to a file share you can do so via the API, but I would recommend AutoPKG feed new packages either into a test environment or a test branch of your JSS before you ship it to production.
