Caching Server and Blocking Updates

Like always, we try to curb the random iOS updates until we have sorted out whether or not they will break the usage for the end-users. The student iPads specifically are the ones we keep the closest eye on

We have blocked the DNS for the update server on the student network, but the downloads seem to still push through.

Staff and our team can download whatever updates we want to.

We are running a caching server, and I was wondering if because we have downloaded the update and cached it, if this allows that package to push directly to the devices even though the DNS is blocked for checking updates on the student network.
