It's now been two days since the stable channel release of Google Chrome for Mac v48.0.2564.82, but every time I try to download it, I keep getting a DMG file with Chrome v47.0.2526.111 in it.
Both the following links have the same problem:
https://www.google.com/chrome/
https://dl.google.com/chrome/mac/stable/GGRO/googlechrome.dmg
Anyone else having better luck getting this updated Chrome version? Or an alternate download link for it?

Open Chrome - top menu Chrome - About Google Chrome - check the version and get the auto-update with version 48.0.2564.82

Same here. Can't find the latest version of Google Chrome anywhere but Auto-Update from the Google Chrome App.

Someone also mentioned this on the stable release blog page. Looks like there's a disconnect going on at Google. I suspect there are two teams at play here. One team updates the blog pages to announce new releases, but unless the team responsible for updating the links to pull that new version gets the "memo", it will keep pointing to the previous release.
While you can update Chrome as @mhasman mentions, we shouldn't need to do this. Especially if you're trying to pull down their official DMG with the latest version.
They'll fix it eventually, but its a bit annoying.

I suspect what actually happened was that the Google engineer whose 20% time fun project was to build the Mac version of Chrome was on vacation... As it is it took them DAYS to get the right version up but it's been more or less in lockstep since the snafu.
