casper imaging strange behaviour....

Hi...

i have my mac pro server running mavericks... casper 9.3. Netboot working, base image done and working.

my problem comes when im trying to deploy DMG or packages from configurations in casper imaging.

my mac going through net boot... then erase Macintosh HD... then block copy my base image...

i have after about 7-8 dmg or packages that are installed within the same configuration. When the error occurs, casper imaging starts running through packages left to be installed really fast... then at the end imaging quits and my mac stays at my net boot desktop doing nothing...

am i clear ?

When imaging goes fast through packages... obviously they are not installed since its way to fast...

What do the Casper Imaging logs say for the computer being imaged? Did those packages sync successful to the DP that your using to image from?

As for the staying at the NetBoot desktop screen. Is "Boot to target drive after imaging" selected?

hi

what's funny is that the imaging logs says that all packages has been installed... which is not true...

my DP is the same as my main server...

When im saying that it stays at the net boot desktop... its right after that imaging starts to go through all packages really fast... imaging closes by it self and it stays there forever... even if reboot is selected...

I've seen this behavior when the server connection has been lost. Does your server still show a connection from a client to the CasperShare?

Also, make sure your diskless NetBoot is working… when booted from your NetBoot image, can you drag any/all HD partitions to the Trash?

hi... i can trash my hdd to the trash... also if i only use my base image in my configurations, it works well... it seems related only to packages...

my server looks always connected yes...

I am experiencing this behaviour on 9.32 this morning. My setup is a Macbook Pro with a copy of my net boot image on a firewire drive and a local copy of my casper repository on a shared drive connected by ethernet over thunderbolt. It was working fine but this morning when i run the configuration from the local repository it does the block copy without issue then loses the network connection when it tries to copy the packages. I wonder what is different between the block copy and the package copy that makes it fail for the second stage after the connection is stable for the first stage.
