Hello everyone!

We're excited to let you know that we are shipping Casper Suite 8.3. We are incredibly proud to be able to offer support for the new functionalities of iOS 5 on that day that it is released.

As usual, your JAMF Software Representative will contact you with your upgrade information within the next week. We're prioritizing our emails to customers that are deploying iOS 5 this week. If you don't receive anything by next Wednesday, or would like to upgrade sooner, please send an email to:

support at jamfsoftware.com<mailto:support at jamfsoftware.com>

If you email us, we will get you the information to upgrade as soon as possible. We ask that you refrain from posting the information that you receive to this public mailing list.

Here is a list of the new features in Casper Suite 8.3:
• iOS 5 enrollment. The JSS now supports enrollment for iOS 5 devices.
• ‚‚App management for iOS 5 devices. The JSS now allows you to automatically install ( or “push”) ‚‚in-house apps, free App Store apps, and paid App Store apps with VPP codes. You can also wirelessly remove these apps from devices.
• Configuration profiles for Mac OS X. The JSS now allows you to create and distribute configuration ‚‚profiles to Mac OS X Lion computers.
Certificate-based communication for Mac OS X clients. The JSS can now use certificate-based communication to validate and authenticate messages sent from the jamf binary (/usr/sbin/jamf).
• Reporting for FileVault 2. The JSS now reports on FileVault 2 status for Mac OS X Lion computers. ‚‚
• MEID for mobile devices. The JSS now tracks the MEID for iPads and iPhones if it is available.

For a complete list of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements, see the “New Features” and “Bug Fixes and Enhancements” chapters in the release notes.

regards,
zach

Zach, et. al

Let's not be shy -- the load balancing, extended Tomcat and JSS DMZ stuff is pretty cool too. After all, there had to be a clear reason for that shiny new JSS admin course, right? ;)

Perhaps I gave away the surprise? Sorry!
