we're realizing that we have an issue with our CS5 package and our Lion
image.
Until now, we've been experimenting with just the base OS of Lion. We think
we got that down.
And our CS5 package works well enough with SL.
And it seems to work if we image a machine with lion and deploy CS5 after
that.
But when we try to deploy either our AAMEE or snapshot versions of CS5 at
Imaging time with Lion, the end result is a lion machine that doesn't get
past the login screen (takes your credentials, thinks for a bit, clears the
screen and then comes back to the login screen)
Obviously, if we leave the CS5 package(s) out, Lion images fine and we can
log in OK.
The box is checked to "Package must be installed at boot disk at imaging
time" for both versions.
These machines are not bound to any directory services, so it's not an
issue with AD or OD credentials.
we're on JSS version 8.21 right now, making the jump to 8.3 very shortly....
If anyone has had similar issues and could please advise, that would be
great ;)

When you are imaging the computer. Is it imaging as root? with lion to get the post install packages to work (packages that install after a reboot) you have to image the computer as root. This is a lion bug.

Good call - but yes, we are running the Casper Imaging app from the Root
account.
Upgraded the JSS to 8.3 also - no magic fixes there yet either.
If i figure anything out i'll post it for the record!

Are you deploying anything else?
Any scripts that edit /etc/authorization?
